Active Start (Special Olympics)
Active Start is a family-centered program targeting children with intellectual disabilities ages 2 to 6. Through the program, children learn basic motor skills such as walking, running, jumping, and throwing in a fun and safe environment.

Bridging the Gap – Wheelchair Sports Association
Bridging the Gap is a program that helps eliminate the gap between the introduction of sport and recreation in the rehabilitation setting and continued involvement in physical activity. The program provides programs called “Have-A-Go Days” and evenings that provide opportunities for individuals to experience and play a variety of wheelchair sports in a supportive, fun atmosphere.

CanPowerSkate
CanPowerSkate is an action-packed, high-energy instructional power skating program geared to hockey and ringette skaters that focuses on balance, power, agility, speed, and endurance. Skills, techniques and conditioning drills are taught in a progressive format that emphasizes how the skills apply to game situations.
Includes pre-power for younger skaters as well.

CanSkate
The new CanSkate program is based on Sport Canada’s long-term athlete development (LTAD) principles. Exciting new features include a fresh new look, new awards, great tools for coaches and most importantly a tested and proven new curriculum and delivery methods that guarantee skater success in developing stronger basic skills and developing them faster.

City of Swift Current Recreation Program
Free program open to boys and girls aged 7-14
Children and youth will have the opportunity to learn basic skills in a wide variety of sports, cultural games, and activities. The program will be held year-round and will run once per week, running September to May.

Curling is a sport for everyone to enjoy. People who have trouble bending down to get into the sliding position can plan the adapted version, Stick Curling!

CURLSASK Wheelchair Curling
Wheelchair curling is an adaptation of curling for athletes with a disability. The rules are very similar to able-bodied curling to the same but do have differences. Wheelchair curling is played with the same rocks and on the same ice as able-bodied curling, though the rocks are delivered from a stationary wheelchair with a stick broom and there is no brushing. Just as abled-bodied curling is, curling can be recreational but there is also an opportunity to become competitive.

FUNdamentals (special Olympics)
FUNdamentals is a continuation of the Active Start Program for athletes ages 7 to 12 (participation in Active Start prior to registering in FUNdamentals is NOT required). This program transitions from basic movement skills to basic sports skills while maintaining an atmosphere of fun and meaningful interaction. This program also promotes specific sports education, proper nutrition, and social inclusion through participation in positive sports experiences.

Ringette Sask
Rookie Rugby is the nationwide introductory rugby program for ages 6 to 14 that provides both teachers and coaches with a safe, fun, and inclusive non-contact curriculum to introduce children to rugby.
The program provides open-access, easy-to-follow game modules for leading a variety of activities that build introductory, non-contact rugby skills and provide teachers – including those who are unfamiliar with rugby – with new methods to promote physical literacy and practice Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS).

The Saskatchewan Sailing Clubs Association provides a Mobile Sailing School that travels around the province. Participants are instructed by nationally-certified CANSail coaches, using provided Club 420 and/or RS Feva sailboats, or Optimist Dinghies.

Seal Program
The Seal Certificate Program (or Seal Program) offers an alternative approach to swim instruction in Saskatchewan, merging the fundamentals of swimming with the dynamic sport of water polo. Designed to instill confidence and proficiency in young swimmers, this program consists of two divisions: Seal Pups and Seals, each offering a progression of levels tailored to individual abilities.
